The Sanskrit Program

Gain a deep appreciation of Sanskrit’s cultural and literary history as you learn the Sanskrit alphabet system – Devanāgarī and the foundations of Sanskrit Grammar, transliteration and diacritics.

 

Be guided on accurate pronunciation of Sanskrit Terms, names and meanings of the more common yoga postures and pronunciations.

This program will establish a strong foundation for continued Sanskrit study

Meet Shyamala

Shyamala is a longtime practitioner of Yoga, and a scholar of Sanskrit and Yoga traditions. She is currently a Research Candidate for Asian and Pacific Languages with the Australian National University where she will further her Sanskrit Studies in Vedic texts and literature. She holds a BSC in Mathematics and Education and is a qualified yoga teacher. She has worked in the yoga industry and taught yoga to adults and children. As a scholar and practitioner, Shyamala hopes to provide yoga teachers and practitioners with a practical introduction to Sanskrit, the language of Yoga.
